Summary and thesis online submission

Summary

Online delivery of final paper / dissertation summary must be submitted within the deadlines.

Thesis

To be admitted to the final exam, students must do the following:

  • upload a digital copy of the thesis in PDF/A format by accessing - from UNIMIA -> SIFA Online Services -> Administrative services -> graduation application -> Thesis upload. You cannot apply for graduation without uploading the thesis within the deadline.
  • Create a PDF/A file of your thesis starting from a Word or LibreOffice document (follow instructions on the video tutorial).
  • Students must deliver a copy of their final work to their supervisor and co-supervisor. On the day of the final exam, students must deliver a copy of their final work to the Committee.

Graduation sessions

There are three graduation sessions per year, for both Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes:

  • Summer session
  • Autumn session
  • Winter session.

In the Deadlines and calendars section you will find the dates for each session and all the steps required to take the final exam.

Students who graduate by the third session of the academic year need not pay the first instalment for the next academic year.

Graduation requirements

To graduate students must:

  • Be current with tuition and fees until the last year of enrolment
  • Pass all the exams required by your last approved study plan, within the deadlines
  • Agree on the thesis title with your supervisor before applying for graduation
  • Apply for graduation and pay the graduation fee
  • Fill in the upcoming graduate survey
  • Comply with programme-specific formalities and deadlines for each session

The graduation application must be submitted online by the deadline set for your session. Do not hand it in to the Student Registrar.

Payment

The payment of the € 116.00 graduation fee (including the € 16.00 stamp duty) may be made through Pago PA:

  • when submitting the online application, or
  • after submitting the graduation application, through the payment service 

Upcoming graduate survey
Upcoming graduates are required to fill in the survey within the term set for each session.
You can access the survey only after submitting the graduation application.
Failure to fill in the survey by the deadline will result in exclusion from the graduation session.

Deadlines, procedures and graduation calendars
Deadlines, calendars and procedures are different depending on the degree programme.

 

Each application is valid for a single exam session.

Students who forfeit an exam must promptly notify the Registrar through the Informastudenti Service. Students must submit another application through the online procedure, indicating the newly chosen exam session.

Once paid, the graduation fee is valid for the new session also. Postponements are not allowed.

Summer session (first session - single round) - a.y. 2023/2024
  • Final exams: from 17 July and 18 July 2024
  • Online application for graduation: from 20 May to 18 June 2024
  • Graduand questionnaire completion deadline: within 18 June 2024
  • Deadline for completing exams: 25 June 2024
  • Academic record must not be submitted
  • End of internship (online procedure): within 18 June 2024
  • Online delivery of dissertation summary: from 28 June to 2 July 2024
  • Online thesis submission: within 2 July 2024
  • Thesis: send a pdf version to the President of the Committee, if the session will be held with commission and candidates online; or deliver 1 signed copy of the thesis to the Committee on the day of the final exam.
Extraordinary session - reserved to PhD candidates - a.y. 2023/2024

Extraordinary session reserved to candidates enrolling in PhD programmes during the academic year 2024/2025

  • Final exam: 13 September 2024

Candidate must submit a request via InformaStudenti within 27 August 2024. At the time of submission, the candidate must have already presented the online application for graduation and applied for the PhD.

  • Online application for graduation: from 19 to 27 of August 2024
  • Graduand questionnaire completion deadline: within 27 August 2024
  • Deadline for completing exams: 31 July 2024
  • End of internship (online procedure): 31 July 2024
  • Online delivery of dissertation summary: within 3 September 2024
  • Online thesis submission: within 3 September 2024
Autumn session (second session - first round) - a.y. 2023/2024
  • Final exams: from 8 to 9 October 2024
  • Online application for graduation: from 19 August to 10 September 2024
  • Graduand questionnaire completion deadline: within 10 September 2024
  • Deadline for completing exams: 16 September 2024
  • Academic record must not be submitted
  • End of internship (online procedure): within 10 September 2024
  • Delivery of dissertation summary: from 20 to 24 September 2024
  • Online thesis submission: within 24 September 2024
  • On the day of the final exam, students must deliver 1 signed copy of their final work to the Committee. If the session is held remotely, send the final work in pdf format to the Chairman of the Commission.
Autumn session (second session - second round) - a.y. 2023/2024
  • Final exams: from 12 to 13 December 2024
  • Online application for graduation: from 21 October to 12 November 2024
  • Graduand questionnaire completion deadline: within 12 November 2024
  • Deadline for completing exams: 20 November 2024
  • Academic record must not be submitted
  • End of internship (online procedure): within 12 November 2024
  • Delivery of dissertation summary: from 22 November to 26 November 2024
  • Online thesis submission: within 26 November 2024
  • On the day of the final exam, students must deliver 1 signed copy of their final work to the Committee. If the session is held remotely, send the final work in pdf format to the Chairman of the Commission.
Winter session (third session - single round) - a.y. 2023/2024
  • Final exams: from 27 to 28 March 2025
  • Online application for graduation: from 3 February to 28 February 2025
  • Graduand questionnaire completion deadline: 28 February 2025
  • Deadline for completing exams: 28 February 2025
  • Academic record must not be submitted
  • End of internship (online procedure): within 28 February 2025
  • Online delivery of final paper summary: from 7 to 11 March 2025
  • Online thesis submission: within 11 March 2025
  • Students must deliver a copy of their final work to their supervisor and co-supervisor. On the day of the final exam, students must deliver a copy of their final work to the Committee. If the session is held remotely, send the final work in pdf format to the Chairman of the Commission.
